Amy Schulman

Amy W. Schulman is Executive Vice President and General Counsel, and President and General Manager of Pfizer Nutrition. She also is executive sponsor of the company's Global Women's Council, which aims to make Pfizer an employer of choice for women.

Ms. Schulman joined Pfizer as General Counsel in June 2008 and saw the company through its $68 billion acquisition of Wyeth. She led a major reorganization of the Legal Division to align with Pfizer's new business-unit structure and broadened its scope to include lawyers in all markets. In early 2009, she spearheaded the Pfizer Legal Alliance, an innovative approach to engaging outside counsel. She is recognized as a leading voice for transforming the billable-hour model and for redefining the value of legal services. In December 2010 her role expanded when she was named head of Pfizer Nutrition, a leading provider of infant formulas and other nutritional products. In January 2011, Ms. Schulman assumed responsibility for running this nearly $2 billion global business.

Before coming to Pfizer, Ms. Schulman was a partner at DLA Piper, where she was a member of the Board and Executive Policy Committees, and built and led the international law firm's mass tort and class-action practice. Her clients included GE Healthcare, Cisco, Wyeth, Philip Morris, Kraft Foods and Pfizer, for which she served as lead national counsel in multidistrict litigation involving pain medicines Bextra and Celebrex.

Ms. Schulman's commitment to clients, skill as a legal advocate and efforts to advance women have earned her accolades from many leading publications and organizations. In 2011, she was included in the "most innovative general counsel" lists of Inside Counsel magazine and Law360. In 2009, The National Law Journal named her to its inaugural list of the 20 Most Influential General Counsel, and Forbes magazine included her on its list of "The World's Most Powerful Women."

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wesleyan University, Ms. Schulman earned her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1989. She serves on the Board of Directors of Wesleyan and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
